2020 has been a year of Staycations but we’d by lying if we told you we didn’t miss the excitement and escapism of going abroad to sunnier – and warmer – climes.
Air bridges have allowed some holidays in Europe to be possible this year and hopefully the list of countries exempt from the quarantine rules will only grow in 2021.
So, November 27 could provide the perfect opportunity to book some cheap tickets for a holiday next year in the Black Friday flight deals.

Are there flight discounts on Black Friday?
There are usually flight discounts on Black Friday, but there are also bargains to be had on flights at other times in the year too. Flight prices will vary because of a number of different factors and with the global pandemic having an unprecedented affect on travel this year, the flight prices have been affected too.
While flights to far-flung destinations have become few and far between and demand for those routes have dropped, prices have remained high (or higher) as a result.
On the other hand, budget airlines such as RyanAir, EasyJet, Tui and more have been lowering their prices for flights and holidays to European destinations to encourage Brits to travel. So this summer there were some great discounts on flights to be found.
British Airways, Ryanair and easyJet all tend to offer cheap flights for Black Friday and it is a good time to book travel if you’re planning a trip next year. But the discounts to be had will depend on where you are flying from and to, the departure and arrival times you want, travel dates and available seats.
According to Skyscanner, Black Friday flight deals are usually around 11-12% less than usual flight prices, but there are some bargains to be had were you can get tickets for as much as 20-30 % off.
In the past, airlines have saved some special offers exclusively for Black Friday, like the chance to select a seat on your chosen flight or add an additional piece of luggage for free. So, it’s worth waiting to see what the best Black Friday flight deals are before you book your travel.
Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday better for flight deals?
Both Black Friday and Cyber Monday are great opportunities to shop for flight deals. Falling within days of each other – on November 27 and November 30 in 2020 – often brands carry their Black Friday sale over the weekend and into Cyber Monday as well, giving you more time to find the right deal and best discounts.
For example, last year for Black Friday Ryanair launched a 10 day sale in the days before and after Black Friday and then offered a different deal every day for the duration of their sale.
Last year British Airways also launched their own “black and white sale” which lasted until Cyber Monday. The airline offered flights and European city breaks from as little as £99 per person.
Tui offered £150 off per booking using the a special code that was live from Black Friday and until the end of Cyber Monday.
The only thing to consider is, that often the tickets reduced in the Black Friday sale represent flights where airlines have empty seats that need filling. Once those seats are filled and the tickets are gone, they’re gone. So if you wait until Cyber Monday and don’t look at the Black Friday flight deals at all, you might miss out.
