If you have a whiskey lover in your life, or you’re one yourself, then you absolutely must make this delicious cocktail. Because of the warmth of the alcohol coming through in this particular drink it makes a gorgeous winter or Christmas cocktail to enjoy with friends. There’s something so festive about the subtle smokiness you get from whiskey and the blackberries finish it off with a juicy burst of freshness.
We’ve used a really beautiful julep cup in this recipe for a traditional finish but it’ll taste just as good no matter what receptacle is used. You could use tall glasses or a short tumbler, depending on what you have to hand. And if you don’t have a full set of one style, don’t worry. We love the shabby chic look of mix ‘n’ match glasses and your friends will think you’re very trendy!
If you’re planning on making these for friends and family at a party then you could even set up a station for everyone to have a go at shaking their own. It’s a fun activity and will mean you’re not slaving away over everyone’s drinks all evening instead of enjoying the party!

If you don't have any blackberries you could try making this cocktail with different soft fruit or berries. Raspberries, blackcurrants or peaches would all work well.
