There is reportedly one thing that is stopping the Queen from meeting Lilibet, and Prince Harry has recently revealed what this key factor may be.

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced the birth of their daughter in June 2021, royal fans were delighted to discover that their child had been named after Her Majesty's nickname, Lilibet.

Sadly, the Queen has yet to meet this 10-month-old who shares her name as the youngster is currently living in California with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

While it is hoped that Lilibet will be able to meet the Queen during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee later this year, Prince Harry has revealed why this may be an issue and the main obstacle that stands in the way of the Queen meeting Lilibet.

In an interview with Hoda Kotb for Today, Prince Harry opened up about his 'special relationship' with Queen as he revealed, "we talk about things she can't talk about with anyone else." He then revealed that despite their close relationship his concerns about security are preventing his grandmother from meeting her great-grandaughter.

When asked if he will attend the jubilee the Prince responded, "I don't know, there's lots of things with security issues and everything else, so this is what I'm trying to do, trying to make it possible that I can get my kids to meet her [the Queen]."

Prince Harry's security concerns have been highly reported in the British press and in January 2022 it was revealed Prince Harry fears he's 'not safe' in the UK because of 'inherited risk' due to being born into the Royal Family.

In the same interview, Prince Harry discussed his devotion to the Queen and his need to know she's 'protected and got the right people around her.' The Prince also discussed the fact that he had met with the Queen just days before her 96th birthday and sat down with Her Majesty and Meghan Markle for a cup of tea.

Although it is unclear whether the security precautions will prevent the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from bringing Lilibet to the UK to meet the Queen, it is clear that the Prince and Meghan are hopeful that their daughter will meet her namesake.
