The Duchess of Cornwall will not discuss details of her future coronation as a mark of respect to Her Majesty, according to palace sources.
Last week, Camilla was given the Queen's blessing to become Queen Consort when the Prince of Wales ascends the throne—a decision that has reportedly been years in the making.
The 74-year-old, who married Prince Charles in 2005, will assume the regal title upon her husband's crowning and embark on what is likely to become the most challenging chapter of her royal service. While her Queenly duties won't stray too far from her responsibilities as Duchess, it's predicted that her workload will significantly increase with the so-called 'promotion'.
She'll be expected to accompany the King to countless events, whilst continuing to undertake her own solo engagements and projects. She is also likely to be made a Counsellor of State—a position currently held by Charles, Princess Anne, Prince William, and Prince Harry. The demanding role entails carrying out various duties on behalf of the sovereign, including attending Privy Council meetings and signing forms in the monarch's absence.

The Prince of Wales has celebrated the exciting update, praising Camilla for her 'steadfast support' in a public letter to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee last week. It's understood that he's known about his mother's desire to appoint the Duchess the prestigious title since 2019, when the Royal Family had originally intended to announce the news.
While many would be tempted to brag about such an honor, Camilla has decided to stay relatively quiet on the issue.

Buckingham Palace sources have told the Telegraph that the Duchess believes it would be "rude" to discuss plans for her coronation with Prince Charles—an event which will inevitably succeed the Queen's death. They emphasized that Camilla "has never ever sought" to become Queen Consort, having always assumed she would go by Princess Consort when her 73-year-old husband becomes King.

It's also been reported that Camilla fears she would be "jumping ahead too quickly" by spilling information on the ceremony, which will likely take place at Westminster Abbey a few months after the 95-year-old monarch dies.
In the meantime, the Duchess is keeping busy and focusing on her jam-packed schedule of public events. The mother-of-two attended the opening of the charity and community kitchen, Nourish Hub, in west London on Thursday—just one day after Prince Charles tested positive for Covid for a second time. She has tested negative for the virus, fortunately, and will be continuing her royal duties solo until the future King gets the all-clear.
