Every family has its ups and downs, even the British monarch. Despite a rocky year, Prince Philip and Prince Harry shared an incredibly close bond. In the wake of the Duke of Edinburgh's death, sources close to the royal family are quick to stand by those claims.

• A source revealed to US Weekly that Prince Philip and Prince Harry were quite close, even though the family's rift was prominently displayed over the past year.

• Prince Harry shared a touching tribute to honor his late grandfather, and the sweet sentiments are certainly heartfelt.

• In other royal news, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, is not invited to Prince Philip's funeral.

Although members of the royal family have not seen eye-to-eye as of late, Prince Philip and Prince Harry will always be remembered for their closeness.

A source revealed to US Weekly that Prince "Philip thought extremely fondly of his grandson and vice versa," and Prince Harry does have regrets about losing touch over the final months of his grandfather's life.

Putting all differences aside, Prince Harry's meaningful tribute to Prince Philip proves that they were much more than meets the eye.

"To me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ‘til the end," part of the statement read.

Prince Harry is back in the U.K. for the funeral services, but his wife, Meghan Markle, was advised not to fly at this stage of her pregnancy. Although this is the first time he will be seen publicly with his family since March 2020, Prince Harry could be on his way towards reconciliation with his loved ones. Even Meghan Markle is ready to move forward

Perhaps, in the wake of tragedy, the family has realized what's most important.
