A beautiful unseen image of the Queen has been released by the Royal Family. The poignant photograph shows Her Majesty dressed down and in one of her favorite locations.

The new stunning image shows Queen Elizabeth II in her younger years hiking in the Scottish countryside. Her Majesty is dressed down, wearing a tartan skirt and green cardigan. She also holds her coat in one hand and a walking stick in the other.

The casual image set in the Scottish Highlands is already being praised by fans who love seeing the Queen in this relaxed manner. The Highlands held a special place in Her Majesty's heart, being the place she spent many summers with her beloved Prince Philip.

Royal fans took to social media to compliment the Royal Family for posting such a lovely final image to mark the official end of the Queen's mourning period.

"What a beautiful picture 🥺🥺 the wonderful Queen Elizabeth II will never be forgotten and will always be loved by everyone! May she rest in peace 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️" said one commenter. "Wonderful....back home walking the mountains forevermore," said another.

"Lovely photo with the river Dee behind her up at her Balmoral estate," said an eagle-eyed fan who recognized the land surrounding the Queen's Scottish home, Balmoral Castle.

Wearing her trademark headscarf, the Queen was often known to sport this style while riding, or out walking in the countryside in Scotland.

As a mark of respect on the day of her funeral, one of the Queen's headscarves was placed on the saddle of her favorite pony, Emma.

This was one of the many subtle tributes that were made to the Queen during the funeral. Other key moments from the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II have been documented, including Princess Charlotte’s sweet tribute to the Queen as the young royal wore a horseshoe-shaped diamond brooch that was allegedly given to the young royal by the Queen herself.
