The Duke and Duchess made a visit to see troops in Cyprus yesterday.
But at a photo call with some of the troops, and a well placed Christmas tree next to Kate, the Duke of Cambridge couldn’t help but tease his wife about her outfit.
Dressed in a Smythe khaki green blazer, she teamed it with a white shirt, L.K.Bennett clutch and diamond hoop earrings by Asprey. But it was the jacket that William teased her about.
“My wife’s camouflaged against the tree,” he said, as photographers took pictures of them. He carried on by jokingly saying, “Do you want me to move out of the photo?”
Luckily the Duchess found it funny and gave a little laugh, as did the troops. The royal couple were in Cyprus, RAF Akrotiri, to meet and thank the service men and women who live at the base. Most of who are separated from their families at Christmas.
Kate and William handed out presents while they were there and met military dignitaries, including Akrotiri’s station commander, Chris Snaith.
William also gave a speech, praising and thanking Britain’s Armed Forces. “Thank you for your commitment and thank you for your sacrifices.
“We are in your debt and Catherine and I feel very lucky to be able to spend time with you today.”
On Tuesday the Duke and Duchess hosted 200 wives, husbands, children and parents of service men and women from two RAF stations in Cyprus at Kensington palace for a Christmas party.

“Not only are we grateful for you coming here to join our party, but also for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis on behalf of the nation.”
