The Duke and Duchesses children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are said to be 'besotted' by the cute new addition to their family. Kate's brother James bred a litter of cocker spaniel puppies last summer and gifted the new puppy to his sister before their other dog, Lupo, passed away late last year.
Announcing the sad news about Lupo, a black cocker spaniel, which regularly appeared in the families' photos, the royal couple said on Instagram in November: "Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much."
At the time over 900,000 people liked the post, with thousands of fans quick to show their support for the couple, with one writing: 'I am so so sorry!! Losing a dog is so painful. Love to you all.'

Lupo had originally been a gift from brother James too - when he bred a litter from his dog Ella in 2011. He'd given his sister the dog as company in 2012 when Prince William was deployed to the Falklands, via his job as a RAF search-and-rescue pilot.
The new puppy, which the couple have yet to reveal the name of, was handpicked by both Kate, Charlotte and George. The tiny black cocker spaniel is said to be bringing the family some comfort after Lupo passed away.
James Middleton has posted various pictures and sweet videos of the litter of puppies - which his dog Luna had last year. In one cute photo James and his fiancé, Alizee Thevenet are seen holding all the puppies, with their other dogs sitting in front of them.
