Harriet Phillips' cornflower blue midi dress is the elegant summer style moment that's stayed with me

She added an eye-catching basket bag

What a summer Harriet Phillips is having. She officially joined the Royal Family when she married Peter Phillips in June, and since then the newlyweds have attended events such as Royal Ascot, the Championships at Wimbledon and various polo matches.

From her beautiful lace Emilia Wickstead wedding gown to creations by Suzannah London, we certainly know she's got good taste in dresses, and the dress she wore for the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup last month was another triumph.

It's the now sold-out Beulah Aybra Cornflower Linen Dress, which cost £395. The British clothing brand is a favourite of the Princess of Wales, and Harriet added Kiki McDonough green amethyst and diamond earrings, a quirky Anya Hindmarch basket bag and Finlay London sunglasses - all of which are also very Kate Middleton-coded.

Recreate the look

Harriet's dress is the prettiest shade of blue, and I love the flattering sleeves and raffia belt, which picks up on her bag. It's 100% linen, so it's breathable for the last weeks of the summer, and you could really experiment with some of the fashion colour trends 2026.

Chocolate brown paired with pale blue is a particular favourite of mine, or you could even go for something really unexpected, like a pair of leopard print shoes.

You'll notice that a lot of high street stores - like M&S and Phase Eight - are starting to drop their autumn collections this week. But with the sun still shining, Harriet's pretty midi is a reminder that, firstly, I'm not ready to give up summer dresses quite yet, but also that, styled the right way, a dress like this will be incredibly useful into next season.
