Kate Winslet rarely wears this kind of dress - her elegant blue midi features three universally flattering details
The neckline, sleeves and length would work for every figure
When I think about Kate Winslet's style, there are a few looks I've seen her in a lot. The first is relatable - comfortable jeans, boots and blazer; the second is confidence-boosting, sharp tailoring; and the third is high-octane red carpet gowns.
It feels like a rarity to spot her in a summer-ready midi dress, which is why the flattering blue style she wore to watch the tennis at Wimbledon back in 2022 is well worth revisiting. It looks to me like a design by British clothing brand Temperley London - similar to this so-called 'Heaven' dress.
I love the icy blue hue as well as the scalloped edges on the sleeves and hemline, but what really stands out about this feminine dress to me is the flattering shape. The V-neckline has an elongating effect, and it's perfectly balanced out by the sleeves. The layered pendant necklaces add a bit of extra glamour, too. The elbow-length sleeves offer a great amount of arm coverage, which I always feel more confident in rather than sleeveless dresses, plus the midi length is so easy to wear.

Perfect for a late summer wedding, you could be the 'something blue' in this pretty dress. If you're wondering what colour suits you, read our guide to finding exactly the right shade for your hair and skin tone.
Kate's Temperley blue dress is particularly clever because what looks like a lace fabric is actually "a chiffon fabric embroidered with botanical motifs for an all-over lace effect". The brand is a favourite of Kate Middleton's, and it's a great choice for an occasion like a day out at Wimbledon.
The A-line shape is universally flattering whatever your figure, and the dress being such a departure from Kate's usual style is testament to quite how good it is. It looks just as elegant now in 2026 as it did four years ago, which is why there are plenty of similar options out there on the high street to help you get the look if you have an occasion in the diary.
