Kate Middleton just turned 40 over the weekend and has been inundated with birthday messages from her family and friends wishing her well—but did Prince Harry and Meghan even say happy birthday?

It has been speculated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle failed to wish Kate Middleton a happy birthday when she turned 40 recently.

Fans think that because there wasn't a public message from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Catherine on social media, the royal couple decided to ignore the Duchess of Cambridge's milestone birthday.

In actual fact, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer on social media so therefore a public message would be a struggle for the couple who only use their Archewell website to make formal announcements.

Royal expert Charles Rae, speculates that as Harry and Meghan are based in California in a Santa Barbara mansion, they may have sent their birthday wishes on a Zoom call with the duchess this year.

“Who knows what the Montecito Massive will do,” Charles told Entertainment Daily. “But as they are thousands of miles away it is likely they will wish her happy birthday via Zoom.”

Before they moved away from social media and still used some platforms for royal duties, the couple wished Kate a happy 38th birthday publicly on Twitter. A tweet said, “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge today!” which also included a cake and heart emoji.

In celebration of her 40th birthday, members of the royal family, including Her Majesty, used social media to wish the Duchess a happy birthday. The Queen even bent royal protocol with her birthday tribute, which had left some royal fans with raised eyebrows.

Kate's father-in-law Prince Charles and step-mother-in-law Duchess Camilla wished the Duchess a happy birthday by sharing heartfelt images.

The couple shared some sweet photos of themselves with their daughter-in-law and captioned the post, "Wishing The Duchess of Cambridge a very happy 40th birthday today!" with a fun birthday cake emoji added at the end for additional celebratory fun.

The Duchess also received countless tweets and messages on social media from royal fans who wanted to wish the Duchess well on her big day. Kate even broke royal protocol by replying to a sweet message from a young fan who wished the Duchess a happy birthday through a video message on Twitter.
