Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s, new lockdown skill brings ‘horror’ to her children
Did you know she could do this?
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has revealed that lockdown has meant trying out a new skill at home - much to the “horror” of her three children.
- Duchess Catherine has shared that she's taken on a new lockdown skill recently.
- However, it seems that this is much to the “horror” of her three young children.
- In other royal news, the Queen is much “livelier” in private than she appears, a royal biographer claims.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s lockdown skill may not be one we’d typically associate with royalty, but it seems that she’s been faced with getting to grips with hairdressing. In a recent video call, Duchess Catherine discussed the challenges of lockdown with parents. Together they spoke of what families are facing during the third lockdown in the UK and how important it is to prioritize the mental wellbeing of parents, as it has a direct connection to their children’s mental health. Hobbies you can do at home have seen a surge in popularity over the lockdown period - and the Cambridges are no different.
In the short clip posted by the official Kensington Royal Instagram account, the Duchess of Cambridge goes on to reveal a more light-hearted consequence of lockdown.
“We’ve had to take on additional roles that perhaps others around us in our communities or in our lives would have perhaps supported us and helped us with,” Duchess Catherine began, before adding, “So, I’ve become a hairdresser this lockdown, much to my children’s horror”.

Where is the Duchess of Cambridge spending lockdown?
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are understood to be spending this third UK lockdown at their Norfolk country home, Anmer Hall. Their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte attend Thomas’s Battersea, but with schools currently closed, their royal parents are apparently helping with their home learning.
Some claim that the Duchess particularly values her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis spending some time in nature.
