Oranges add a beautiful tang to desserts and the zest of the flavour comes through wonderfully in sweet treats, plus they also provide our vitamin intake. Oranges are also great in many savoury dishes as they are the perfect balance of sweet and sharp, so they really liven up a lot of recipes. Browse through for some of our favourite orange recipes.

There are many different varieties of orange but the main ones you will find at the supermarkets are Seville, Navel, Valencia and Moro oranges, which are in season over the winter months. Many Christmas cake and dessert recipes will feature orange, as this is a really wintery flavour that really evokes all that’s good and cosy about the winter months.

Our baked orange cheesecake with caramelised oranges (pictured) is a really light, elegant cheesecake, that’s great for finishing off a dinner party. The caramelised oranges on top not only add depth of flavour, but they also look stunning too.
