Known for their quirky sense of style, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were recently given the honour of appearing in Vogue’s iconic September issue.
And, despite their love of designer pieces, the pair admitted to the publication that one of their fiercest sisterly squabbles was over a £49.99 pair of trainers.
Beatrice admitted, “One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse trainers.”
She added, “We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”
Who would have thought it? Although they’ve always been the closest of friends, turns out even royal sisters have a tricky time sharing a wardrobe!
Although they didn’t mention which Converse style they fought over, archive snaps show Eugenie stepping out in the Chuck Taylor Low Top Classic back in 2012, while Beatrice opted for a high top pink pair for a fancy dress party in 2008.
A rare chance for both sisters to swap the high heels they normally don at royal engagements for something a little comfier.
And they’re not the only members of the royal family to show their love for this affordable fashion staple.
Enjoying a day out at the Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing this August with her husband Mike Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall used a pair of Converse to finish off her casual outfit.
Embracing the warm weather, Zara teamed her branded polo top with loose-fitting khaki shorts and a pair of stylish tortoiseshell sunglasses. Adding to the low-key feel, she styled her hair into a messy bun and kept her make-up minimal.
And with Princess Eugenie’s October wedding to fiancé Jack Brooksbank fast approaching, we’re left wondering if her much-loved trainers will be making an appearance on her big day…
