Lorraine Kelly swears by this £18 shampoo to 'give volume' to her fine hair - and it's so nourishing
This nourishing formula reduces shedding and boosts healthy growth
Fine hair has its benefits - quick drying, easy brushing, and not having to use quite as much conditioner all come to mind.
With that said, you'd be hard-pressed to find a fine-haired person who wouldn't say yes to an extra helping of fullness or reduced shedding, and best shampoos for fine hair can absolutely help with both.
As the first step in your routine, and one of the only hair products designed for your scalp as well as your strands, it's well worth investing in an effective shampoo formula - and woman&home December cover star Lorraine Kelly knows this all too well.
Speaking exclusively to w&h about her beauty favourites, we couldn't miss an opportunity to ask how the TV icon maintains such healthy, bouncy hair. And it turns out, she loves one particular shampoo for its volume-boosting powers.
This award-winning, Ayurvedic-inspired shampoo is specially designed for fine or thinning hair and has a health-focused formulation. Its 98% natural ingredients list is centred around Haritaki fruit, a strengthening and nourishing extract (it's also the reason the shampoo is grey), as well as fatty acids for fullness and ylang-ylang to stimulate scalp circulation for healthy growth.
Chatting backstage on our December cover shoot, the TV Icon detailed her must-haves, giving special mention to this particular formula: "I love Champo shampoo because I have quite fine hair and it gives me volume," she explained.
It's no surprise Lorraine washes with Champo; it's got a low-foaming feel that's perfect to gently cleanse more fragile hair types without stripping away moisture. A little goes an incredibly long way thanks to its concentrated formula, so the brand recommends mixing it with a few drops of water in the palm of your hand before applying. Plus, it smells absolutely incredible, like a citrus perfume, thanks to natural bitter orange and neroli essential oils.
Luckily, the hair product recommendations didn't stop there; Kelly also tipped us off about her love of "John Frieda The Original Root Booster," saying, "I've actually got quite fine hair, so that's very good." She then continued, "Michael Douglas showed me his The 2 Volume & Shine Blow Dry Spray from mdlondon, which is great."

This budget-friendly buy does exactly what it promises and gives roots a big helping of volume. Spray it into damp hair, tip your head upside down to blow-dry it in, and you'll achieve noticeable bulk and lift that lasts well.
The woman&home beauty team are huge fans of MDLondon The Numbers products, and we're not surprised Lorraine is too. Mist this onto damp hair all over and blow dry it in for smooth, frizz free lengths and lasting volume at the roots. It's another perfect choice for fine hair.
