With a stellar cast and plenty of raucous and heartwarming laughter, Book Club is a rom-com par excellence that’s not to be missed. And we’re putting on an exclusive preview screening at London’s Ham Yard Hotel.
At the film’s heart is a quartet of lifelong friends, played by Hollywood royalty Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen.
Modest Diane (Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage; wild Vivian (Fonda) can’t seem to settle for one man; bored Carol (Steenburgen) is in a relationship rut after 35 years of marriage; and emotional Sharon (Bergen) is still reeling after her decade-old divorce.
When they take on E L James’ risque Fifty Shades of Grey, their rather dull book club gets more than a little spice, leading to midlife shake-ups as they reassess their relationship status with sidesplittingly funny results.
The male cast won’t disappoint either, as we follow an amusing string of new romances with Andy Garcia and Richard Dreyfuss (they’ve still got it), plus sexy old flames in the form of debonair Don Johnson (a nice tie-in with Fifty Shades actress Dakota Johnson) and suave Craig T. Nelson.
The film is packed with memorable scenes including some jaw-dropping, viagra-spiked fun, and will resonate with midlife women (and men) everywhere. It’s the perfect night out for anyone (especially, dare we say it, those who think fun finishes at 50).
Our exclusive#BookClubFilm preview screening will kick off with a drinks and canapes reception at 6.30pm, followed by a panel discussion with Woman&Home Editor Kath Brown, Executive Editor Miranda McMinn and special guests, followed by the screening at 7.30pm.
If you’d like to be one of our lucky guests, head to this Eventbrite page to claim your free tickets.
Book Club will be released in cinemas everywhere on 1 June.
