The private moment the Cambridge children will share with Prince William ahead of Diana’s memorial unveiling
The Cambridge children will be given time to process the day in their own way
The Cambridge children are set to mark a private moment with their father, Prince William, ahead of the unveiling of the Princess Diana memorial statue this week, it has been reported.
- On what would've been her 60th birthday, a statue of the late Princess Diana will be unveiled in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.
- It's been reported that Prince William will allow the Cambridge children to see the statue in private ahead of of the official reveal so that they can reflect on the poignant day.
- This royal news comes after it was revealed that Princess Diana once 'boldly confronted' Camilla to demand her husband back.
It's understood that Prince William will show his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, the statue of their grandmother before the rest of the world see it on July 1st.
The Telegraph reports that the future King will allow his little ones to have a private moment to see the memorial and that the Cambridge kids will not be in attendance on the day.
There had been plans for 100 guests to attend the event to honor the Princess of Wales, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997.
However, it's not been revealed that a scaled back version of the planned event will go ahead due to ongoing Covid restrictions, which will mean even Kate Middleton is expected not to attend.
A royal source told The Mirror, "This a small event and a very personal moment for the family.
"Plans have been scaled back due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and media arrangements reflect both the size and tone of the event."

Meanwhile, an official palace announcement confirmed that Prince Harry and Prince William will be joined by creators and staff who have had a hand in pulling the touching memorial together.
"In addition to close family of Diana, Princess of Wales, members of the statue committee, the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, and garden designer, Pip Morrison, will also be present," the statement read.
What is expected to be an emotional day for brothers Prince Harry and Prince William will mark the first time they have been together since Prince Philip's funeral earlier this year.
It's also thought that Prince Charles will miss the statue unveiling, with royal insiders claiming that the service could "resurface old wounds" for the Prince of Wales, who had a famously rocky marriage with Diana between 1981 and 1996.
"He does find it terribly difficult," a friend of Charles is believed to have told The Times.
"These moments have the potential to resurface old wounds, and it brings back memories for him; happy, sad, regretful."
