Paul Burrell shared an emotional snippet from an old letter sent to him by Princess Diana in which she shows her support for her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William.

The former royal butler, who worked for Diana, Princess of Wales until she died in 1997, took to Instagram to post a photograph of the sweet, handwritten note, besides a photo of Diana and her two boys.

The note in the image reads, "I love my boys to death and hope that the seeds I’ve planted will grow and bring the strength, knowledge, and stability that is needed."

Hinting that Princess Diana’s loving words prove that she would be supportive of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s drastic decision to step back from the royal family at the start of 2020, Paul explained, "As Harry, Meghan and Archie embark on a new life, I am reminded of some poignant words which Princess Diana wrote to me many years ago."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the world astonished when they confirmed they were moving away from the spotlight of The Firm for good, swapping Frogmore Cottage nearby to Windsor Castle, for their new home in LA.

Claiming that Princess Diana’s attitude of love, strength, and freedom towards her sons would still be held by her if she could be here to witness Prince Harry’s controversial departure, Paul went on, "They are a mother’s words of unconditional love which are as appropriate today as they were when she wrote them over 24 years ago."

More recently, Paul shared another look at a letter sent to him by Princess Diana, highlighting her support for the royal family, suggesting she would have held unwavering support for both royally dedicated Prince William as well as Harry, who has began a new life away from it all.

"I so want the monarchy to survive and realise the changes that (it) will take to put ‘the show’ on a new and healthy track," the handwritten words from Diana can be seen to say, in an Instagram post shared by Paul in May.

"Diana, Princess of Wales. In light of criticism recently directed at the Royal Family, here is evidence in a letter from Princess Diana to me of her fervent support for the monarchy. God bless Her Majesty the Queen," he penned beside the upload.

Prince Harry recently opened up on the haunting things that come to mind when he thinks back to his time with his mother and the struggles he faced after she died in the Paris car crash in 1997.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey during his new Apple TV series about mental health, titled The Me You Con't See, Harry shared the "triggering" memories that have stayed with him from his childhood.

"When I think about my mum the first thing that comes to mind is always the same one over and over again," Harry, who is set to welcome his first daughter with Meghan in just a matter of weeks, said.

"Strapped in the car, seatbelt across with my brother in the car as well and my mother driving being chased by three, four, five mopeds with paparazzi on and then she was always unable to drive because of tears. There was no protection."
