Surprisingly, *this* royal was one of the first people to meet Master Archie

Following his birth on May 6th, many have wanted to meet the newest addition to the Royal Family.

Due to a very busy schedule, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have not yet met Archie, but Princess Diana’s sister has.

Since Prince Harry remains dedicated to his late mother, it’s no surprise that the 62-year-old has already been actively included in the newborn’s life. The couple even chose to reference the Spencer family in Archie’s birth announcement, along with the Duke’s paternal family.

This isn’t the only time the couple have paid respect to Princess Diana either. In an Instagram post for the US Mother’s Day, Meghan shared a photograph of Archie’s feet with a caption that celebrated mothers everywhere.

He was pictured in front of forget-me-nots, which were Princess Diana’s favourite flowers. Though subtle, this tribute has not gone unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans.

It seems the Sussexes want to maintain a close relationship with the Spencer family. Lady Jane gave a reading at their wedding, and Diana’s sisters were introduced to Meghan before the Duke and Duchess got engaged.

After meeting them, a touched Meghan had said, "I think in being able to meet his aunts, I'm able to, in some way, know a part of her through them and of course through him. And it's - it's incredibly special.

The Sussexes have busy times ahead, with more Royal visitors expected to meet baby Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales will be visiting this week, according to royal commentator Omid Scobie.

Many have sent their well wishes, with the Cambridges saying they were ‘absolutely thrilled’ for the new parents. Since they’re now parents to three children, we’re sure they know what a special feeling it is!

Prince William had even joked in a statement directed at Prince Harry, 'I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.’

We’re looking forward to seeing how the meetings between baby Archie and more members of the royal family goes over the coming weeks.
