Holly Willoughby has revealed Meghan’s half-sister Samantha could be a topic in upcoming Oprah interview

Holly Willoughby has revealed a major detail about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah, and we’re more intrigued than ever to tune in.

Holly Willoughby hinted yesterday that Oprah will address the Duchess’s ongoing family drama in her highly anticipated interview with the royal couple, which is due to air next month. The ITV presenter told This Morning viewers that Oprah’s producers had contacted her own team for a very specific request, that could indicate the American talk show host will touch on the subject of Samantha Markle.

“Funnily enough, Oprah Winfrey’s team contacted This Morning requesting footage from our interview with Samantha Markle in preparation for the interview with the Duchess of Sussex," she said.

Holly, who has defended Harry and Meghan’s privacy in the past, added that she does not know if the footage was used.

“So we don’t know whether or not they used that in the interview, but what we do know is nothing was off limits in this interview."

Samantha Markle appeared as a guest on This Morning in 2020. Speaking with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, she shared multiple damning assessments of Meghan’s character and dismissed the likelihood of a reconciliation between the Duchess and her father.

Samantha also released a tell-all book about her half-sister last month, which she claims will shed light on ‘the truth about her life and family against all odds and ultimatums.’

Harry and Meghan’s interview, which has already been filmed, will air on the CBS Television Network on 7th March. The network remained coy on the details of the 90-minute special, but confirmed it will be a ‘wide-ranging interview’ which will ask Meghan about ‘everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.’

The interview, which reportedly took two days to film, occurred prior to the Queen’s removal of the couple’s royal patronages but will be re-edited to address this major development.

Harry and Meghan will not be the only royals to speak publicly on 7th March. The Queen will also make her annual Commonwealth Day address to the nation on this date, in a pre-recorded speech filmed at Windsor Castle. The statement, which will be broadcast on BBC One, will air 24 hours earlier than its usual time and, perhaps most significantly, just hours before Harry and Meghan’s CBS interview hits our screens.
