The Queen will not be attending her summer garden party plans this summer, Buckingham Palace has confirmed in a statement.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, it was confirmed that other members of The Firm will take on the Queen's duties of attending the royal garden parties hosted at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh.
Sharing new information on the summer parties that are set to go ahead this month and at the end of June, the statement read, "Her Majesty will be represented by other members of the Royal Family at this year's Garden Parties, with details of attendance being confirmed in due course."

The last time the Queen hosted her annual summer parties was in 2019, with the parties of the two following years having to be canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
With the Queen having now moved away from Buckingham Palace to make Windsor Castle her official residence and gradually attending fewer royal events, it's unsure if she will ever return to make an appearance at the annual tradition.
The Queen has suffered a series of health stresses in recent months, having tested positive for COVID-19 in February, revealing that it left her "very tired and exhausted".
The monarch has also been photographed using a walking stick at a handful of official engagements, reportedly suffering from mobility issues after her back injury last year.
Taking to Twitter today, royal expert and journalist Angela Levin admitted that it's a "good decision" for the Queen to miss out on the party schedule, adding "there would be too much standing".
