Viewers assumed that there was trouble in paradise for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. The talk show host admitted that she's currently residing with Courteney Cox, and questions immediately began to swirl.
"The world knows our first guest from a little show called Friends, but currently, I just know her as my landlord," Ellen said while introducing Courteney onto her show.
Rather than discuss the actress's latest roles, the two began their conversation by discussing their living situation, which was unbeknown to the audience. Courteney said that she was cleaning up her abode to make room for the comedian, only to find out that Ellen was not shy about making herself right at home.
"All of a sudden, it was like, ‘Wait a minute. Ellen’s toothbrush is on my side," she joked. "And then I opened up the draw and was like, ‘Well, where’s my makeup?” So essentially, you’re a terrible roommate."
So, what exactly is going on?
It just so happens that Ellen and Portia sold their Beverly Hills home and needed a temporary place, which Courteney graciously offered. And the one moving the toothbrushes and makeup? Ellen claims it was all Portia. (Likely story.)
According to the Wall Street Journal, Ellen and Portia's Beverley Hills mansion, which they bought from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, sold for $47 million. The ivory-covered abode is roughly 10,000 square feet and has five bedrooms, a pool, an outdoor kitchen, and a paneled library, among many other amenities.

After clearing up any misconceptions, the two shifted gears, and Courtney discussed Friends: The Reunion, the highly-anticipated HBO Max special due out later this year.
"It was unbelievable. It was so emotional," she recalled about filming. "It's an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time, all of us in, like, I forgot how many years. 15 years? 17 years?"
Could we be any more impatient about this reunion?
We're happy to report that despite any puzzling Q's, all is well for the two temporary roomies. (And for the record, we couldn't imagine any mess in Monica Geller's digs.)
