Lynne Spears has congratulated daughter Britney on her recent wedding to Sam Asghari, despite not being invited to the star-studded nuptials.

The US pop star married personal trainer Sam at her home in Thousand Oaks, California on Thursday evening, nine months after the A-list couple first announced their engagement.

The romantic union was witnessed by an intimate gathering of just 60 people, including Madonna, Paris Hilton, and Drew Barrymore, as well as Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace, who created Britney's wedding dress. Many of the guests were the same celebrities who supported Britney after her 'devastating' miscarriage and her longstanding campaign to be freed from her controversial conservatorship.

It's understood that Britney, 40, walked herself up the aisle, where she exchanged vows with 28-year-old Sam in a service conducted by celebrity officiator Reverend Clint Hufft. A fairytale-style reception, complete with a horse-drawn carriage, proceeded the ceremony.

Lynne Spears, who was not invited to the wedding, has now publicly addressed her eldest daughter's nuptials.

The 67-year-old took to the comment section of one of the many wedding posts shared by Britney on Instagram, writing, "You look radiant and so happy!" She also approved of the Toxic singer's mystical-themed event, adding, "Your wedding is the 'Dream' wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special!" she added.

The Through the Storm author wrapped up her message with the sweet words, "I am soooo happy for you! I love you!"

Jamie-Lynn Spears was also not invited to the wedding, but subtly expressed her support by 'liking' her older sister's post.

Britney's two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, did not attend the event either. According to the attorney of the Grammy winner's ex-husband, Kevin Federline, the teenagers are "happy for their mom and they are hopeful that Sam and Britney are starting a great future together" but "didn't want to take away" the special night from them. The singer's father, Jamie Spears, was also snubbed from the guest list.

Britney's decision to keep her immediate family members separate from her wedding is no surprise, with the star having publicly denounced her dad, mom, and sister on multiple occasions over the past year.

Britney was freed from her conservatorship in November 2021 after living under its strict conditions for over 13 years, and has gone on to accuse Jamie Spears of financial misconduct during his role as her guardian. She has also threatened legal action against Jamie Lynn, after alleging that the Zoey 101 made defamatory statements about her in her memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
