Holly Willoughby did something seriously lovely for two strangers at charity event

Holly Willoughby

Holly Willoughby is known by most This Morning fans as one of the sunniest women in showbiz, taking to our screens every morning with a smile as she hosts the ITV show.

Now, the 38-year-old telly beauty has proved that she is even kinder than we thought by doing something very sweet for two strangers.

It has been reported that the mum-of-three won a diamond at a charity raffle last week, but instead of keeping the half-carat stone for herself, Holly gave it away to a couple who have both suffered from cancer.

As she attended the A Very British Affair Auction at Claridge’s hotel in London in aid of CLIC Sargent, Holly was lucky enough to find a golden ticket in her goody bag, making her the winner of the diamond.

But having heard the stories of guests Jaymz and Kat, a pair who have both battled the disease, Holly donated it to them.

Event organiser Lucy Butcher told Hello! Magazine: ‘Rather than take [the diamond] for herself, Holly simply stood up, walked over to our table and said that she'd rather they had it.

‘They couldn't believe it. They were so happy and blown away. She showed such generosity. It was just spur of the moment – she just stood up and said “Oh my goodness, I've won!” Then, without hesitating, she just donated it to the couple. It was so lovely.’

Holly stepped out at the event looking as chic as ever, dressed head to toe in navy and rocking an elegant checked, tailored blazer and trouser suit co-ord with her hair swept into a loose up-do.

She was joined for the evening by her husband of twelve years, Dan Baldwin, and the pair were photographed walking arm and arm and flashing huge grins for the camera as they left the event.

How sweet!
