Ed Sheeran and other celebrities have reached out to Tom Parker's family as they pay tribute to the singer who has died aged just 33

Ed Sheeran, James Jordan, JLS, and other celebrities have shared their grief as they pay tribute to the late Tom Parker who has sadly passed away, leaving behind a wife and two young children.

Tom Parker, best known as a member of the band The Wanted, passed away from brain cancer at the age of 33 on March 30, 2022. 

His widow, Kelsey Parker announced his passing on social media and said, "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence." 

"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you ❤️💫✨❤️"


Following this devastating announcement, celebrities who knew Tom, particularly those in the music industry, have shared their grief online as they reach out to Tom's family and bandmates.

Ed Sheeran posted an image of the late singer on social media and sent his love to the singer's widow and two young children. "So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. Thoughts and love are with Kelsey, his children and his family. Very sad day, what a lovely guy x" said Ed.

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins also shared images on Instagram of herself with Tom and shared her grief and added that he was 'gone too soon.'

"So desperately sad to hear about @tomparkerofficial. He was so full of life, and it’s just so cruel he’s gone way too soon at 33. We were both patrons of @ellenorcharity & last time we spoke he was still thinking of others, & wanting to help, despite all he was going through."

"He was so brave about his illness, & talked to me on @gmb about what he was going through which was such an inspiration to others. Sending huge love to @being_kelsey & @thewanted 💔💔💔 #tomparker #gonetoosoon"

Fellow boyband, Union J, also paid tribute to the late singer. The band posted on social media, "He was taken far too soon Such a great artist with a kind heart Our thoughts are with Tom Parker, his family, and his bandmates @thewanted. You’ll never be forgotten Tom."

Liam Payne from One Direction also shared his grief on social media, "I'm heartbroken to hear about Tom. He was so full of life and humour, and the memories I have of him with stay with me forever. Sending my thoughts out to his family and his brothers in The Wanted."

Boyband JLS from X Factor fame also shared a message that said, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom Parker, all his family, friends and bandmates. He fought a brave fight and left a legacy and lasting inspirational impression that will be remembered by us all, including his fans and loved ones."

McFly also paid tribute to the late star with a heartfelt post that read, "We are so saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Tom Parker. Tom was always so much fun to be around & we have amazing memories of touring & playing shows with The Wanted. The thoughts of the entire McFly family are with his wife & children, his family, friends & bandmates."

On Capital FM Roman Kemp and his fellow co-hosts paid tribute to Tom Parker and spoke about his bravery when dealing with the knowledge that he had an inoperable brain tumor.

Strictly Come Dancing's James Jordan also paid an emotional tribute to the star on social media. "Just heard that Tom Parker passed away the same wicked disease that took my father My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very special man that I had the honour of meeting several times. Rest In Peace brother My dad will be there waiting for you with a beer," said the ballroom dancer.

Tributes are still pouring in as fans share their grief online and many struggle to believe that the star has passed away at the age of just 33.
