Celebrity yoga teacher Guru Jagat died suddenly, aged 41

Kundalini expert and yoga teacher to the stars Guru Jagat has died suddenly aged 41. Her celebrity clients included Kate Hudson, Alicia Keys and Kelly Rutherford.
The wellness world is in shock after the loss of one of its brightest lights, Guru Jagat. Guru Jagat, also known as Katie Griggs, was the author behind the bestselling book Invincible Living.
Guru Jagat had legions of followers, supporters and was a true light in this world. Her loss has left the community she created devastated, as well as her close friends and family too.
Although most think of yoga for weight loss, meditation and all-round wellbeing, the spiritual and physical practice comes in countless forms. Guru Jagat became best known for her kundalini expertise.
Kundalini is a form of yoga said to, among other things, enhance your abundance and even your orgasms. The practice has gained a lot of interest over the years, as has the Guru herself.
She founded LA's popular Venice Kundalini yoga studio, as well as the RA AM Institute, located in LA, New York, and Spain.

As well as her work in the institute and as a yoga teacher, the Guru also lectured at Harvard Divinity School, sharing her wisdom and kindness of spirit with those lucky enough to attend.
According to Los Angeles Magazine (opens in new tab), she was not only a great spiritual teacher, author and business owner; but also a talented fashion designer and music label owner too.
The publication confirms that the Guru's sudden passing came after she suffered a pulmonary embolism following ankle surgery.
In a post following her passing, close friend and co-CEO of Mind Body Green (opens in new tab) Colleen Wachob confirmed that the Guru died on Aug 1st. She said, "I’m saddened to share that Guru Jagat, a renowned Kundalini Yoga teacher and member of the mbg family, passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism on Sunday night."
