Why you can trust Woman & Home
Many hotels struggle to tick all the boxes. The challenge to appeal to families with young children while also catering to solo adults or couples on vacation is a mammoth task but Hillside Beach Club not only achieves this goal, but sets the bar incredibly high.
If you are looking for some best places to travel in 2022, Turkey is sure to be high on your list, and if luxury is what you're after, then look no further than the Hillside Beach Club.
Nestled in the pine woods in Fethiye, Hillside Beach Club is less than an hour away from Dalaman airport. A short transfer takes you on through the beautiful countryside before reaching the hilly landscape of this spectacular hotel.
The scent of fresh pine trees wafts through the resort, immediately allowing even the most stressed to fully relax. In a charming touch, Hillside also plants a new tree for every new guest that visits the hotel meaning the scent only gets richer as the years go by. Here's what this fantastic find has to offer...
Adult only areas at Hillside Beach Club
The resort has two adult-only beaches that are perfect for spending quieter time in an adult-only environment. Serenity beach is an idyllic cove that's just a 15-minute walk from the main resort. The beach has a bar and restaurant and serves a BBQ-style lunch for those who fancy something a lighter by the sea. The smaller beach can be reached by walking through a short trail or by a colorful boat that travels back and forth to the main resort every half hour.
Silent beach is on the opposite side of the resort and pure relaxation thanks to a rule that encourages beach users to switch off their phones and take time to be present. Here you'll find an outdoor yoga studio and wellness spa for a truly zen experience.
What to do at the Hillside Beach Club?
The Hillside features outdoor and indoor gyms that offer a wide variety of sports and activities, from archery or beach volleyball to tennis and pilates, meaning there's something for everyone to get involved in.
The resort also has a number of watersports and sailing activities available to guests, many of which are included in the price of the stay. The sea in this part of Turkey is calm with sedate waves meaning paddleboarding and sailing first thing in the morning is a meditative and calming experience.
Children's areas at Hillside Beach Club
Although this resort has a lot on offer for adults, there's also a variety of things for children to get involved with including a kids club that takes place during the day, plus a babysitting service that allows parents or grandparents to chill out in the evenings.
There's also an impressive swimming pool, and while it's not one of the most amazing swimming pools in the world, its clever design allows for a neat shallow area to circle the pool so that less confident swimmers are still able to enjoy the outdoor pool facilities. The pool is also conveniently close to the bar and main restaurant so that parents can confidently keep an eye on their children, while still making the most of their time in the sun.
There's also an arts and crafts stall and evening events that include children like the outdoor beach cinema which is an experience really like no other. Hotel guests are encouraged to get comfy under blankets on the beach and look out to the floating screen in the sea.
What to eat and drink at Hillside Beach Club
Hillside boasts multiple restaurants perfect for those who get bored of buffet-style dining. Guests can choose to dine at Pasha, a bar and restaurant that serves breakfast and brunch for late risers, and Mediterranean cuisine for anyone wanting an a la carte dining experience.
The Hillside also has an Italian restaurant, serving dishes that make use of the local produce and delicacies in the area. The mushroom risotto and pannacotta are seriously good.
The restaurants are both included in the inclusive price, but guests will need to make a reservation to ensure their spot.
The Hillside also offers an incredible buffet selection in the main dining room that serves an enormous variety of fresh food and also allows guests to order specific dishes to their liking. The buffet includes an omelet bar in the mornings, a kebab station at breakfast and a fresh fish and meat section in the evenings. Unlike other buffet restaurants, the food here is fresh and varied and changes each day so that guests can have a different dining experience without getting bored.
The beach bars—one by the pool, another by the sea—serve a variety of cocktails, with one highlight being the Kalemya, named after the bay that the resort is located in, the expert blend of gin, ginger ale, elderflower, and lime is fabulously refreshing on a hot day.
The price to stay at Hillside Beach Club
The resort only ever fills up their guests to 80% capacity so that they can ensure the ratio of staff to guests allows for a luxury experience. Nightly rates at Hillside Beach Club start from £260. These rates are based on two people sharing a standard room on a full board plus basis.
All meals are included, as are the drinks consumed during breakfast (7.30 am-10 am), lunch (12.45-2.30pm), and dinner (7-9.45pm) at the main restaurant. Drinks ordered outside these times and at Hillside’s other outlets and taken from the minibar are charged for.
Many of the activities and watersports are included in the price but some will be an additional cost.
Hillside Beach Club is truly one of the best places to visit in April 2022 when the season begins. The resort is open from April until early November 2022 which means you will experience only the best weather when you visit.
