Pack one of these 6 SPFs for your summer holiday, and you'll be protected, comfy and glowing all day
Our beauty team used these formulas for 16-hour work days in Mallorca - so you know they're trustworthy
When the woman&home beauty team were packing for our beauty photoshoot in Mallorca, we threw swimsuits, big hats and of course, suncream into overstuffed suitcases.
Knowing full well that we all should wear SPF every day, especially when abroad, we knew that we needed to select the best SPFs to get us through long shoot days outside in the Mallorcan sunshine. Picking the very best facial sunscreen options, we carefully selected a variety of formulas that would sit well under makeup and offer us full protection.
We also wanted a good variety of SPF30 and SPF50 creams for the body, scalp SPF sprays and a good choice of different formulas. These formulas went through rigorous testing from our entire shoot production team, and these were the SPFs that came out on top.
The SPFs our team relied on on long shoot days
Don't just take our word for it, we tested these SPF's on everyone during our shoot. We keep the models topped up while standing in the midday sun, and the production team helped themselves to our selection throughout the week. Each formula received rave reviews for its ability to keep skin protected all day, without looking obvious, feeling uncomfortable or like a chore to reapply.
RRP: £38
Working to combat the effects of 5 types of pollution (pollen, UVA & UVA rays, indoor, outdoor, light and blue pollution), this facial SPF protects against visible signs of premature ageing. Beauty Director, Sarah loved how it absorbed instantly, gave her a plump dewiness and sat well under make-up for all-day wear. This SPF promises to protect your face, no matter what your day throws at you...
RRP: £22
This spray formula was so handy for topping up throughout our long shoot days. It can be used on everything from your scalp and face, to your body, so it was so easy to ensure our skin had full sun protection when we were outside. The dry-oil texture is non-greasy and absorbed well when massaged into the skin. The delicious white flower and coconut scent was a bonus too.
RRP: £20.99
If you're looking for a reliable all-rounder, then this is the suncream for you. It's gentle enough to be used on your face, as well as your body and is suitable for children, too. The hydrating formula contains ceramides, which protect your skin's barrier, resulting in improved skin health and increased long-lasting hydration. This was beauty writer Annie's favourite as it was so comfortable to wear, while offering full head-to-toe protection.
RRP: From £17.60
We took away the jumbo version of the scalp and face mist, but you can buy the smaller version - it's the perfect size for topping up while out and about. The hard-working formula made reapplication a dream as we could simply mist over the top of makeup and onto our scalps for immediate protection.
RRP: £17.99
Senior Beauty Writer Rhiannon found this stick SPF incredibly handy for shoot days when you don't have more than 30 seconds to yourself. The mini SPF stick makes reapplication every two hours so quick and easy. The hydrating formula dries completely transparent, so it's undetectable on the face, body and scalp. It works over makeup too, never smudging or smearing.
RRP: £36
Another one of Sarah's favourites, this glistening formula is infused with vitamin E, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to provide hydration while protecting skin. The suncream not only offers high levels of protection against sun damage but also has a gorgeous radiant finish so your skin looks its very best sun-shimmery self.
