World leaders send heartfelt messages to the Queen

Word leaders have released heartfelt messages to the Queen amid the announcement that she has tested positive for Covid-19.

• Her Majesty received some lovely messages from world leaders who have wished her a speedy recovery.

Buckingham Palace recently announced that the Queen has tested positive for Covid-19. This comes just days after Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, tested positive for the virus.

Although it was announced that the Queen will 'continue light duties at Windsor,' she has received an outpouring of support from World leaders and other celebrities who are wishing her a speedy recovery.

Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau said on Twitter, "My thoughts, and the thoughts of millions of Canadians, are with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today. We’re wishing her a fast and full recovery from COVID-19."

UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, also said on Twitter that he wished the Queen well and hoped she would return to her 'vibrant' good health.

"I’m sure I speak for everyone in wishing Her Majesty The Queen a swift recovery from Covid and a rapid return to vibrant good health," said Boris in a tweet.

The Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison, also reached out to Her Majesty. "Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a speedy recovery from COVID," said the PM on Twitter.

President Biden, former President Obama, and former President Trump did not reach out to Her Majesty despite making her acquaintance on several occasions. The Queen has received many world leaders at her homes across the UK, but on this occasion, US leaders did not address the Queen's ill-health or wish her well.

British public figures reached out to Her Majesty to wish her well. Former leader of UKIP, Nigel Farage, said on social media, "The thoughts of huge numbers of people all over the world will be with the Queen as she tests positive for Covid. At a moment like this, we realize just how important to us she is."

Football commentator Gary Linekar said, "The Queen has tested positive for Covid. Wish her a speedy and full recovery. 🙌🏻"

Broadcaster and journalist, Piers Morgan, said, "Wishing Her Majesty, The Queen a full & speedy recovery from COVID-19. Worrying for any 95-year-old person to catch this virus, and a very worrying time for Britain when it's our Monarch. Good luck, Ma'am. 🙏"

At the age of 95, the Queen's health worries have been at the forefront of royal fans' minds. Her Majesty suffered from a sprained back last year and had a brief hospital stay at the end of the year. 

Amid her Covid diagnosis, the Queen’s message of support to Team GB has sparked concern from fans who are worried about her health. Many continue to hope for her speedy recovery and return to royal duties.
