Queen sends heartfelt gift to the hospital that treated Prince Philip
The Queen sent a bouquet of flowers on this poignant anniversary

The Queen sent a very touching gift to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, received treatment during his recent hospital stay.
- The Queen sent a special gift to St Bartholomew’s Hospital on the first anniversary of the UK’s first lockdown.
- Prince Philip received treatment at St Bartholomew's for a “pre-existing heart condition” after first being admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital in February.
- In other royal news, Zara Tindall has given birth to a son.
The Queen reportedly sent a heartfelt gift to the medical staff who treated her husband the Duke of Edinburgh during his recent stay at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. Prince Philip was first admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital on February 16 as a “precautionary measure” after “feeling unwell”.
He was later transferred to St. Bartholomew’s where he is said to have undergone a “successful procedure” for a “pre-existing heart condition”. Prince Philip later returned to King Edward VII’s to recuperate and has now left the hospital and reunited with the Queen at Windsor Castle.
Upon his return to the historic Berkshire castle where he and Her Majesty have spent lockdown, Philip made a statement giving thanks to all the medical staff who treated him and people who sent good wishes. Now the Queen seems to have done the same as she sent a bouquet of flowers to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Her heartfelt gift came on the UK's Day of Reflection that marked one year since the first lockdown.
According to ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship, the Queen’s bouquet included iris, tulips, mini daffodils, and ranunculus.

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Ship also shared the deeply moving message from the Queen that accompanied the flowers and honored the importance and poignancy of the day.
‘As we look forward to a brighter future together, today we pause to reflect on the grief and loss that continues to be felt by so many people and families, and pay tribute to the immeasurable service of those who have supported us all over the last year’, Her Majesty wrote.

The beautiful bouquet was not only a very touching way to mark this incredibly significant day but also likely an expression of the Queen’s personal gratitude towards St. Bartholomew’s staff for all they have done for her beloved husband.
In the caption of an official Royal Family Instagram post, it was revealed that the bouquet is now on display in the hospital’s atrium for ‘staff and patients to enjoy’.

It has been claimed that the Queen was “distraught” at Prince Philip’s “health setback” and had been leaning on her loved ones for support. Prince Charles was reportedly a “pillar of strength” for his mother at this difficult time.
She will no doubt have been delighted to reunite with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle after their time apart.
