Prince William's 'hurt and pain' over Princess Diana's Panorama interview has been revealed as the BBC admits to falling 'short of the high standards of integrity and transparency.'
- In 1995, Princess Diana participated in a Panorama interview for BBC.
- It has since been revealed that the Princess of Wales was coerced into taking part in this broadcast, which has caused upset for her children.
- In other royal news, how the Queen's quirky teenage outfit caught a young Prince Philip's eye.
It has been reported by The Sunday Times, "Prince William, 40, is understood to think that the BBC has not gone far enough in questioning the 'legitimacy' of the 1995 Panorama interview."
The outlet added that the Duke of Cambridge believes that his mother would not have agreed to this interview, had she not been coerced. "He believes his mother might not have given [the interview] without manipulation by Bashir," said the Times.
It was added that the Prince still feels 'a lot of hurt and pain' over this scandalous interview, where Princess Diana admitted that her husband was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and commented, "there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded."
In November 2020, Prince William spoke about the probe into Princess Diana’s Panorama interview and said that the investigation was a 'step in the right direction' into discovering the events surrounding the Princess giving this bombshell interview.
The Prince commented, "The independent investigation is a step in the right direction. It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time."
However, two years since this comment, it has now been established that he is not happy with the results of the investigation which has caused a great deal of hurt and pain since its first broadcast.

Reportedly Prince William is still 'frustrated' at the BBC for failing to address the 'false narrative' that Martin Bashir established with this interview. This includes the falsified documents and the invented rumors that were used to coerce Diana into participating in this interview.
Following this scandal, the BBC has promised to never again broadcast Princess Diana's infamous Panorama interview. It has also admitted fault and awarded damages to Prince William and Harry's former nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke, after unfounded allegations about affair with Prince Charles that resulted in an abortion.
