Prince Harry reportedly ‘wants to be there’ for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations after stepping down as a working royal
The situation is supposedly already causing a ‘headache’
Prince Harry reportedly wants to be included in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations next year, though it's been suggested this would be “awkward”.
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently confirmed they will not be returning as working royals.
- Despite this, it’s been claimed that Prince Harry still wants to be part of a special royal occasion.
- In other Royal News, it's been revealed that the Queen’s TV special is set to air the same day as Harry and Meghan’s ‘tell-all’ interview.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back as senior members of the Royal Family last year. It has now been confirmed in an official Buckingham Palace statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning as working royals. This comes after months of speculation as to whether Prince Harry and Meghan were likely to lose their royal patronages as their royal exit deal review deadline approached. Following their decision, the Sussexes’ former royal patronages and military titles will now be awarded to other Royal Family members.
Last year, it was reported that the Queen had put together a new “Firm of Eight” senior royals to undertake royal engagements together. And with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee approaching next year, plans are already underway for this momentous occasion.
The May Bank Holiday has been moved to June 2 and there will be an extra day off work for everyone in the UK on June 3 as people celebrate 70 years since the Queen ascended to the throne. Now it seems that Prince Harry is still eager to be part of this historic celebration.

According to The Sun, an insider has claimed: “Harry wants to be there. It is already causing a headache and is going to be very awkward.

“Will we put them on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the flypast?
The insider continued: “This is a celebration for the Queen’s 70 years of service to the nation and should not be overshadowed.
“There are now so many questions about what to do with Harry and Meghan.”
This comes after it was reported that Prince Harry was also keen to return to the UK this year for several significant royal events, travel restrictions permitting. These are thought to have included Prince Philip’s 100th birthday and the Queen’s 95th birthday. It was also suggested that the so-called “Fab Four” would reunite for the unveiling of a memorial statue to Princess Diana.
Given the recent announcement that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are expecting baby number two, the question of whether one or both of them might visit the UK this year remains uncertain.
Next year’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration could perhaps see them reunite with the wider Royal Family, along with Archie and their second royal baby.
