Like many members of a married couple, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, often proudly wears both her engagement ring and wedding band on her left hand for all to see.
- Recently the Duchess of Sussex has been spotted wearing a third ring beside her wedding and engagement ring.
- It has been reported that the Duchess wears the ring for a special reason.
- This royal news comes after Duchess Meghan responded to criticism surrounding her baby shower.
Recently the Duchess has been sporting a third ring on her wedding finger and it’s likely to be for a very special reason.
When she and Prince Harry tied the knot back in 2018, she was given a specially made gold band to accompany her engagement ring, which was designed by her husband.
The ring features a stone from Botswana, which sits between two diamonds that belonged to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana and came from her jewellery collection.
The gorgeous ring is said to be designed to be timeless and classic and also to symbolise a capturing of part of Harry’s past with its nod to Diana.
Since the wedding, the Duchess has been photographed sporting a third ring beside the precious wedding and engagement rings.
She was first spotted with the new piece of jewellery after the birth of her and Prince Harry’s first son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who is now six months old.
The appearance of the ring also came after the Duke and Duchess’ first wedding anniversary.
Harper’s Bazaar has reported that the Duke gave the gift to his wife to celebrate their anniversary and also their growing family.
Prince Harry reportedly worked with jeweller Lorraine Schwartz to incorporate his, Duchess Meghan and Archie’s birthstone into the band.
A source explained that the ring features a green emerald for Archie, a blue sapphire for Prince Harry, and a green peridot stone for Duchess Meghan.
It may be the case that Prince Harry took inspiration from his brother in giving Meghan the special piece.
Prince William reportedly gave his wife Duchess Catherine a diamond eternity ring as a special promise after the birth of their first son, Prince George, and the Duchess has worn the ring beside her wedding band ever since.
