Joanna Lumley stunned at a recent royal engagement as she received a Damehood from the Princess Royal at an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

The Royal Family revealed on social media that Joanna Lumley is now a Dame after an important ceremony hosted by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace.
The post from the Royal Family read, "Congratulations Dame Joanna Lumley! At today's Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, The Princess Royal awarded Dame Joanna with her honour for services to Drama, Entertainment and Charitable Causes."

Fans loved that the actress was being awarded in this way, and many took to comment on this wonderful occassion. "Absolutely fabulous! 😉 Congratulations!" said one commenter who referenced Joanna's most beloved TV and film franchise, Absolutely Fabulous.
"She's a national treasure 💝" said another. "About time thoroughly deserved ❤️," said another fan who was delighted to hear that the star was getting official recognition.
The star wore Laura Green London’s bespoke “'Helena' coat whilst attending the ceremony. She paired the bright pink coat dress with beige heels and a large hat with pink details. This look perfectly matched the actress' pink ribbon and medal from the Queen that signified Joanna's damehood.
Joanna is good friends with Camilla Parker Bowles and has often spoken highly about the Royal Family. Previously, Joanna Lumley has revealed her 'down to earth' moments with the Queen and spoken about how the Royal Family are 'good-hearted people.' On the Jonathan Ross show during the promotion of her book, Joanna said, "If you do meet any member of the Royal family, they are so kind and so friendly and so polite and not grand. You’ll find kindly, good-hearted people."

The book Joanna was promoting was actually about Her Majesty and her incredible reign over the past 70 years. The book was released in 2021 and was titled, A Queen for All Seasons: A Celebration of Our One and Only Queen Elizabeth II on Her Platinum Jubilee.
