Duchess Camilla spent a day out in England's Marlborough town center, officially opened the newly converted Parade Cinema. Her trip to the movies was incorporated into her multiple engagements in Wiltshire on Thursday, December 2.
The cinema was the highlight of her day as not only a film buff but also owing to the involvement of her dear friend Robert, who is chairman of the company behind the £3M project to convert the cinema.
The Duchess was introduced to the staff and supporters associated with the conversion of the chapel to a cinema, which was formerly a 19th-century non-conformist chapel.
After unveiling a plaque to formally open the cinema, she spoke to the captivated audience. “Thank you Robert for asking me to come and open this wonderful Parade Cinema," she said. Adding, "As probably all of you know, you cannot say no to Robert."
Camilla continued, “I have worked for a very long time with the Bobby Van charity with him and he is absolutely brilliant in getting things done and I think this is one of his masterpieces."
"So, thank you very much indeed for asking me to open it. It is going to be a huge asset for everybody in Marlborough, around Marlborough, and the whole of Wiltshire."

“I very much look forward to coming to see a film here, having my glass of wine and popcorn, and bringing all the grandchildren here," she added. "Hopefully I will see you again then.”
As it's believed that Duchess Camilla’s royal role is 'to be expanded’ amid the Queen’s health concerns, it's likely that we'll see plenty more outings like this.
