Rebel Wilson welcomes first child via surrogate and reveals unique name

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rebel Wilson announced the birth of her daughter via surrogate as she opened up about this long journey that has been 'years in the making'.

Rebel Wilson has made headlines over the past couple of years because of her staggering weight loss that saw her 4.5st (63lbs). In July 2021, Rebel Wilson revealed wanting to freeze her eggs was the motivation behind her weight loss, which was something that doctors said would be necessary to start IVF treatment (the first part of the hormone treatment that is necessary for harvesting eggs).

It has now been revealed that Rebel's fertility treatment and egg retrieval were successful as it has just been announced that the actor has become a mother after a surrogate successfully gave birth to her daughter.

The actor posted an adorable photograph of her newborn with an emotional caption that revealed the unusual name she had selected for her firstborn. "Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate 💗," said Rebel. 

The star then took time to thank the people who made motherhood possible for her. "I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!" she said.

Rebel then revealed her daughter's adorable nickname as she said, "I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club. 💗💗💗"

Rebel's fans and close friends were delighted for the star and many commented on this post with heartfelt messages about her new baby.

Brittany Snow, who starred in Pitch Perfect with the star made a joke about their shared franchise as she welcomed the newest Barden Bella (a reference to their films). "Aunt Britt is soooo excited to meet the newest Bella. I love you SO much Rebs," sad Brittany.

Another Pitch Perfect star, Skylar Astin, commented, "Congrats Mama Rebel!! ❤️❤️❤️." Arielle Kebbel said, "Congrats 💞💞💞 so happy for you, you’re going to be an incredible mom. Welcome to the world sweet Roycie!"
