Who was John Anthony Aniston?

Jennifer Aniston's father was the Greek-American actor, John Aniston, who was originally born with the Greek name Yannis Anastassakis.

The actor was best known for his role in the soap, Days of Our Lives, in which he played the character Victor Kiriakis for nearly 40 years from 1985 until 2022. The actor reportedly appeared in 3782 episodes of the soap and received a number of awards for his portrayal of this character.

John and his first wife, Nancy Dow, are the parents to Jennifer Aniston who was born in 1969. John also has another child from his second marriage with Sherry Rooney, a son named Alexander who was born in 1989.

Jennifer reportedly had a strained relationship with her mother Nancy and many thought this was exacerbated by Nancy's 1999 memoir, From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir. It is thought that the pair became close again following Jennifer's divorce in 2005  from Brad Pitt. The pair were close when Nancy died in 2016 at the age of 79 following a number of strokes.
