Jennifer Aniston has condemned the media for its 'lies' about why her marriage to Justin Theroux ended, revealing that she doesn't 'have anything to hide at this point.'

The Friends star didn't hold back in her latest interview, discussing everything from her hatred of social media to her forgiveness for her estranged mother, Nancy Dow.

Jennifer also opened up about her 'challenging' road with IVF, after decades of pregnancy rumors and speculative reports on her marriage history. The 53-year-old tied the knot with Justin Theroux in 2015, only to divorce the US actor two years later. Before this, she was famously wed to Hollywood icon Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. The breakdown of her first marriage was widely scrutinized in the press, regularly making tabloid headlines in the early noughties.

Jennifer has now set the record straight on how "painful" this coverage of her personal life has been, slamming reports that her marriage had ended because she didn't want children.

The "narrative that I was just selfish," she tells Allure magazine. "I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point."

In the same interview, Jennifer revealed that she was privately trying to get conceive amid the ongoing rumors that she was pregnant.

“All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it," she recalls. "I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Jennifer also revealed she "hates" social media in the interview, confessing the only reason she activated an Instagram account was to launch LolaVie, her haircare line.

The Morning Show star then reflected on her late mother, Nancy Dow, revealing that she's 'forgiven her' despite their painful family history. Jennifer was famously estranged from the late American actor, who had small cameos on The Beverly Hillbillies in 1966 and The Wild Wild West in 1969. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 79, after suffering two strokes in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

"I think my mom’s divorce really screwed her up,” Jennifer said. "Back in that generation it wasn’t like, ‘Go to therapy, talk to somebody. Why don’t you start microdosing?’ You’re going through life and picking up your child with tears on your face and you don’t have any help."

Jennifer and her mother reportedly fell out over the publication of Nancy's 1999 book, From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir. They reconciled shortly before Nancy died, after six years of not speaking.
