The Bachelor 2021 - season 25 of the show – has managed to keep the cameras rolling despite the global pandemic forcing many other TV shows to change their shooting schedules or halt filming altogether.

Much like the current season of The Bachelorette with Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams, producers have found a way around the travel restrictions and social distancing rules to allow the show to go on.

Just as the current season of The Bachelorette was filmed all in one location so that the cast could form a Covid-free 'bubble', the new season of The Bachelor is currently doing the same. Filming took place at the Nemacolins Woodland Resort in Pennsylvania, described as a "four-season playground nestled within 2000 acres". Fancy.

The 28 year old has made history as the first Black male lead for the franchise, something he describes as, "an honour". Matt also added: "I'm excited to take on that role…I hope we can show people that diverse love stories are beautiful."

Although he hasn't appeared on a franchise of the show before (previous Bachelors have been runners up in The Bachelorette or similar) Matt is known to fans of the franchise thanks to his friendship with former Bachelorette Hannah Brown and her runner-up suitor, Tyler C.

"Matt has been on our radar since February, when producers first approached him to join Bachelor Nation, as part of Clare’s season," Karey Burke, the President of ABC Entertainment said in a statement.

"When filming couldn’t move forward as planned, we were given the benefit of time to get to know Matt and all agreed he would make a perfect Bachelor."

The show bosses aren't the only ones convinced that Matt is a perfect Bachelor lead. The New York City resident has already broken another record on the show thanks to the number of women who signed up to be on his season – an impressive 6,500!

When is the next season of The Bachelor?

As of now, The Bachelor has not been cancelled or renewed for a 26th season.
