"Man, this franchise ain’t letting up!" said another fan when they heard the news.
This is not the first prequel that the Yellowstone series has received. The first prequel series titled 1883 and was set in - you guessed it - 1883, almost five decades before this second prequel, which is actually a sequel to 1883.
1883 was released in 2021 and also featured an all-star cast including Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, plus guest appearances from A-listers such as Billy Bob Thornton, Tom Hanks, and Rita Wilson.
While it is still unclear what role Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford will play in this series set in 1932, it is speculated that fans will not have too long to wait before they find out.
In December the official release date of the series will be announced and fans will find out how these new characters will fit into the history of the Dutton family during the Great Depression in 1930s America.
