Grace and Frankie fans totally surprised as Netflix drop four new episodes of final season

Grace and Frankie fans were delighted as Netflix released four new episodes of the seventh and final season of the popular series.

Grace and Frankie is one of the best Netflix shows starring people over 50 and is beloved by fans. So many viewers of the show were delighted to find that Netflix had decided to release four brand new installments of the series. 

Netflix made this announcement on social media with a very special message from the lead actors, Grace and Frankie themselves, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. 

The leading ladies said in a social media video, "We've missed you! But more importantly, you've missed us!" The comedic duo went on to reveal the exciting news.

Jane Fonda quickly reassured fans and said, "But don't worry, there's plenty more to come. We just wanted to give you something special until we finished the rest of the season!"

Fans shared their shock and delight across social media. "GRACE AND FRANKIE NEW EPISODES I COULD CRY," said one viewer.

"OMG! OMG! OMG! There are new episode of Grace and Frankie! That is totally the best thing this entire week!" said another.

However other fans were focused on the fact that their number one fave show is coming to an end after seven fantastic seasons. "Such a great show. Sad to see it go," said one disappointed fan.

"I am NOT mentally prepared to start the final season of my favorite show HOW have they just sprung the first 4 episodes on us I'm a mess!!!!! #graceandfrankie," said one emotional fan.

The show began in May 2015 and the seventh season is expected to be the last. Each series has consisted of 13 episodes, but it is thought that for the seventh and final edition, fans can expect a total of 16 episodes. 

Production for season seven was halted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was indicated by Jane Fonda that production resumed again in January 2021 but was yet again delayed and shooting only restarted once more in June 2021.

The four episodes that have been released are titled, The Roomies, The Arraignment, The Bunny, and The Circumcision.

The sixth season of the show was released in January 2020 and fans have waited a long time for the final seventh season.

For many of us, this break may have been a little too long to remember all of the recent plot lines so thankfully the show has also released a season six recap so that you can keep up with the characters in the show.

Netflix also revealed that the second half of the series will be released in 2022. 

Although it's rumored that it will consist of 16 episodes, it's unclear at this time exactly how many fans can expect. So we will all have to be satisfied with just four for the moment!
