In a new Actors on Actors interview for Variety, country singer and actor Faith Hill opened up about starring in the much-talked-about Yellowstone prequel, 1883.

In Paramount+’s 1883, Faith stars as Margaret Dutton, the matriarch of the Dutton family, about whom the show is about. Faith's real-life husband Tim McGraw takes on the role of James, Margaret's husband.

Funnily enough, as Faith recounts in the new interview, her husband was present when she was asked to undergo a very specific beauty transformation before she started working on the series: let her armpit hair grow out.

"That was really difficult, and Taylor [Sherina, the show's creator] actually called my husband," Faith told Courteney Cox in the interview. "We were at a wedding, our nephew's wedding, and he said, 'Who's gonna be the one to tell your wife that she has to stop shaving under her arms?' And I'm thinking, 'What? We're at a wedding. Can this wait?' He goes, 'No, stop tonight.'"

The reason behind the directive, according to the actor, was for the character to be authentic to the 19th-century time period the series takes place in.

"All due respect to those who love that, and all that freedom, woo!" Faith said. "But for me, personally, I just don't like it." So much so that the 54-year-old singer even offered to tape fake hair on her armpits to make it look like the real thing, a suggestion that was vehemently denied.

While discussing the episode, Courteney, who has recently spoken up about embracing her late 50s and moving away from facial injections, joked that she would have never landed the role since she had all her underarm hair removed via laser.

"I don't laser but I may now, so I never have to do that again," Faith retorted. "It really grossed me out, I have to say."

As much as she hated this particular aspect of filming, Faith has repeatedly gone on the record about her love for the series, her excitement about working alongside her husband, and, of course, the period costumes that make the show so authentic.

"Everything was ingeniously designed," she said to The Hollywood Reporter just a few weeks ago. It was difficult for the women to wear because we had corsets and they were real corsets. I don't know how they did it back then. The entire series was very physical but it allowed us to become these people of 1883. To bring this world to life, that was critical, absolutely necessary, and everyone involved did such an amazing job."

Although there is no word yet on season 2 of 1883, we absolutely can't wait to see what Faith's role in the series will demand of her next.
