Corrie star Beverley Callard took to Twitter to announce the sad news.
Well-wishes have been pouring in following Beverley Callard’s recent announcement of her dog Jeffrey’s death.
On Sunday morning (September 1), the Coronation Street actress posted a photo of her beloved pet and a message revealing that he had died at just three years old to cancer.
The 62-year-old, who plays Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, told her 100,000 followers: ‘On Friday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Jeffrey only 3 years old, but he had terminal cancer! We are broken hearted! I know my Twitter friends loved him too. God bless x.’
Beverley’s fellow Corrie actors were quick to share their heartfelt tributes in response to the sad post.
Simon Gregson, who plays Beverley’s on-screen son Steve McDonald, commented: ‘So sorry Bev god bless Jeffrey I loved you very much xx.’
Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, also sent her condolences to her co-star, writing: ‘Oh no I’m so sorry Beverley. My David loves him! He sends his love. Sleep tight gorgeous boy! X.’
Hayley Tamaddon, who starred as Andrea Beckett between 2013-15, added: ‘Aww Bev I’m so sorry.’
Fans were also quick to express their condolences on Twitter, with one follower writing, ‘So sad, 3 years is so young RIP Jeffrey, you were loved and had a good but sadly short life, heartbreaking.’
‘Beverley, I was very sorry to read your post just now about your loss of Jeffrey. Thinking of you and your family at this sad time,’ commented another, while a third added, 'Bless his little paws. It hurts like nothing else. He’s no pain now and he will be so grateful for everything you did for him. Thinking of you.’
We’re sending you lots of love Beverley!
