When I asked our fitness director for a list of the best workout leggings to trial, Proskins were at the very top.
As soon as my pair arrived, I could see why.
Touchably soft with just the right amount of compression, these are leggings you could put on and forget you’re wearing – exactly the kind of comfort-focused style we’re after.
As I’ve already mentioned, these leggings are super soft, which is important when they’re sitting so close to your skin. The high Lycra content gifts them with a silky sheen, too - not unlike my childhood leotards.
Unlike any other leggings I’ve come across, the patented micro-encapsulated yarn the Proskins leggings are crafted from is packed full of active skincare ingredients.
The aim of the game is to transfer all of these skin-loving goodies from the fabric to your skin as you wear them. The result? Smoother, softer legs without the need for additional products.
An impressive line-up, there’s retinol to kick-start collagen production, vitamin E to nourish, Aloe Vera to calm, ceramides to soothe and even circulation-boosting caffeine.
As long as you follow the washing instructions to the letter (wash on a cold cycle and leave to air dry), these ingredients will stay present in the fabric for up to 100 washes. Proskins recommends skipping fabric softener, as this can compromise the ingredients’ potency.
If that wasn’t enough, the material is also sweat-wicking, meaning it draws moisture away from the body to keep you cool and dry. It has been coated with an antibacterial silver treatment, too, to help keep odours at bay. But remember, this isn’t a substitute for regular washing.
The key design detail of these leggings is the super-high waist. Double-lined, it works like shapewear to hold your stomach in, creating the illusion of a smoother, sleeker silhouette.
Not only is this the confidence boost we all need when working out, the high waist is budge-proof, too, so there’s no risk of a wardrobe malfunction as you bounce into a burpee. I’m 5ft 4in and found the waist finished just below my bust.
Helping you to get the most from your workouts, the firm compression fit helps to boost circulation for increased performance and faster recovery.
Thanks to the simplicity of the design and the lack of bold logos, Proskins SLIM High Waisted Compression Leggings could easily be worn outside of your workouts. For an easy-breezy daytime look, pair yours with an oversized shirt or loose-knit jumper. Just add a pair of box-fresh white trainers or ankle boots.
The high waist means these will work hard in your activewear wardrobe, too. Take advantage of the high-coverage fit and team yours with cropped tops, without fretting about flashing the flesh.
Are the Proskins SLIM High Waisted Compression Leggings Review true to size?
An important feature for an online brand, I’m pleased to report that the Proskins SLIM High Waisted Compression Leggings come up true to size. Even better, the stretchy fabric makes them easy to take on and off.
