You may not know Rossano Ferretti, but you’ll almost certainly know his work. The Italian hairstylist has employed his famous technique, known as ‘The Method’, to transform an impressive array of A-List ‘dos including Angelina Jolie and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who spent six hours being made over at his Mayfair salon So, it’s no suprise that his debut hair collection, just launched at Selfridges, is something special. In fact it, might be the most luxurious hair range ever, and I couldn’t wait to test it!
Here’s what you need to know, Ferretti created the collection with “no budget” in mind, simply to make the best haircare from the finest ingredients, hence the luxurious prices, which run from £28 for the Grandioso Volumising spray right up to £78 for the Prodigo Regenrating Potion And Treatment duo. Everything is made in Italy, using a blend of natural ingredients and potent actives, is sulphate and paraben free, with no artificial colours. But does it live up to the hype?…
Bargain-hunters might want to look away now… because I think it does! After using the Splendido Colour Maintenance Shampoo & Contitioner, Dolce Protective and Detangling Spray and Brilliante Shine Oil for the last week I’ve had three spontaneous compliments on my hair – normally I’m lucky to get one! Everything from the packaging to the smell and textures of the products feels very luxe, and a little goes a long way. The Dolce Spray is my new hero, making my fine, colour-treated hair super silky without the heaviness I’d expect from a smoothing product, I’ve even had to hide the shampoo from my other half as he’s itching to get his hands on it too.
Tempted to treat yourself? A nice way to dip your toe in before investing is with one of three Esperienza Regime Kits, from £46 for a decent sized shampoo, conditioner and two styling products to suit your hair type.
You have been warned – this is seriously addictive stuff.
