It's been all-change on the This Morning sofa this week, as Eamonn and Ruth swapped shifts to cover Phil and Holly's half-term break. But that's not the only way the show's execs have decided to mix things up. This week, in a move that's fuelled a few off-set rumours, they've given Eamonn and Ruth's usual Friday slot to two other familiar faces: Rylan Clark and Alison Hammond.
Tongues are wagging as to whether this means that husband-and-wife duo Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are set to leave the show, or whether this is just a temporary move due to their hosting more shows than usual this week.
Both Rylan and Alison started out in reality TV before channeling their infectious energy into presenting roles, and neither of them are no strangers to the This Morning set; Alison has been part of the team since 2003, working as their showbiz reporter, while Rylan has been making regular appearances since 2013. In fact, he hosted with Ruth in the past... but that doesn't mean he's out to oust Eamonn!
Friday's outing won't be the first time that Alison and Rylan have presented together though - they teamed up for last year's This Morning Halloween special, a pairing that proved a hit with producers and viewers alike. This might well be the reason that they've been drafted in this week, to host what some people are seeing as a trial for a more permanent place in the studio.
If all this musical-chairs-like movement is getting too much, don't worry. Phil and Holly are back on the sofa on Monday and it's business as usual... for the foreseeable future, at least.
