Princess Diana's nieces have made an exciting appearance at the Venice Film Festival, stepping out at the glitzy Italian event in a pair of show-stopping designer gowns on Wednesday.

Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer, the twin daughters of the Princess of Wales' younger brother Charles Spencer, have delighted royal fans with their exciting appearance on the first day of the world-famous film festival.

The 29-year-old duo coordinated their outfits by wearing the same designer—Alberta Ferretti—but switching up the color and style, with Eliza wearing a long-sleeved, jewel-encrusted black dress and Amelia opting for a strapless, pastel pink gown. They kept their blonde hair sleek and their makeup dewy, letting the gorgeous ensembles speak for themselves while they posed for some modelesque photos.

The sisters kicked off their trip by attending the premiere of Madres Paralelas, a Spanish movie about two pregnant women in the final days before delivery. The Penélope Cruz film was promoted with a lactating nipple poster in the weeks before its screening, prompting interest from audiences and critics alike.

It's expected Lady Eliza and Amelia will also view the Spencer film, the Kristen Stewart biopic about Princess Diana's relationship with Charles. Fans couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance between the twins and their late aunt, taking to Twitter to share their observations.

The siblings, who recently moved back to London from Cape Town after emigrating to South Africa in 1995, have previously shared their regret over not getting to know the royal icon. Princess Diana died tragically in a car accident in 1997 when Eliza and Amelia were just five years old, meaning they never built a close relationship with her.

"Of course, I would have loved to have been able to spend more time with her," Eliza told HELLO! magazine in July. "I do have some special memories of her. I can’t explain why, but they’ve stuck very clearly in my mind."

The aristocratic sisters have spent the last couple of decades in Africa, but they're no strangers to their UK roots. Eliza and Amelia enjoyed multiple trips to Althorp House, the Spencer family estate, with their father Charles during their childhood. They're now happy to be back on home turf where they hope to continue their thriving modeling careers and reconnect with loved ones.

"We can’t wait to see what the future holds," said Amelia. "I’ve always imagined I’d end up in the U.K., it just took a little longer than I’d planned. We’re thrilled to finally be here. For me, this is where my future is."
