The Queen is set to break an impressive royal record this year, helped by Meghan Markle and Zara Tindall.

The Queen’s family is rapidly growing and the 94-year-old monarch is reportedly “delighted” at the latest wonderful family news. Her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex are expecting baby number two! The happy couple announced Meghan’s pregnancy on Valentine’s Day, creating a sweet link to Princess Diana. She announced her own second pregnancy with Prince Harry 37 years ago that day.

Their baby news comes in what is an already very exciting month for the Queen and the Royal Family. Just a week ago, Princess Eugenie gave birth to her son. Many people have been speculating about the unique middle name Princess Eugenie will give her new son, whilst other royal fans will now be busy wondering how will the British line of succession change after Meghan and Harry’s next baby?

February has certainly been a brilliant month for the Queen’s family and this year looks as though it will turn out to be just as remarkable. Not only will the Queen celebrate her 95th birthday in 2021, but she looks set to have a record year - all thanks to Meghan Markle and Zara Tindall.

What royal record will the Queen break this year?

The recent announcement of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy follows not only the birth of Princess Eugenie’s son, but also the news that came in December that Zara Tindall is expecting her third child this year.

When Meghan and Zara’s babies are born, the Queen will have eleven adorable great-grandchildren. But that’s not all! Though Duchess Meghan's due date has not been officially confirmed or announced, it's thought that she will likely be welcoming her second baby in 2021 too.

This will make 2021 a record year, as the Queen and Prince Philip will welcome an astonishing three great-grandchildren in a single year. The royal couple, who have been married for over 70 years, are currently spending the UK’s third lockdown at their Berkshire home, Windsor Castle.

Having been unable to see their wider family in person for quite some time due to restrictions, they will no doubt be looking forward to welcoming three great-grandchildren.
