Duchess Camilla will appear in the Strictly Come Dancing final tonight, it has been confirmed.
- The Duchess of Cornwall will appear in two pre-recorded clips
- Camilla reveals she votes for her favourite couple every week
- It follows royal news that Prince George and Princess Charlotte don't call Camilla 'grandma'
Camilla will appear via video in pre-recorded clips, in which she praises the BBC show for helping to "cheer the nation" during the coronavirus pandemic.
She also reveals that she has voted every week for her favourite couple – although she does not say who they are on camera "as she is far too polite".
A royal source told The Sun: "Camilla’s team rang long before filming began and said she was a massive fan — and wanted to be on the show.
"They said she would be happy to do anything, so when they asked her to film a cameo for the final, she leapt at the chance.
"Camilla said her dream was always to appear on the series but royal protocol probably wouldn’t allow it.
"Instead she nailed a fabulous film in one take, and was brilliant."
Camilla – who visited the Strictly set in 2011 – follows in the footsteps of Prince Harry, who made a surprise appearance last month to share words of encouragement with his close friend JJ Chalmers.
Prince Harry could be heard saying to JJ and his professional partner Amy Dowden: "Nice tan JJ. Hi Amy it's really nice to meet you. When I first met JJ he was a shell of himself, but then to see you shine through Invictus, that was the start of an amazing journey."
Harry continued: "I'm so genuinely proud. You're not a dancer, proving that you can do anything you put your mind to, which is amazing."
