Prince Harry and Meghan's baby name hasn't been far from many royal fans' minds after the couple recently announced they’re expecting their second child.
- Prince Harry and Meghan announced their exciting pregnancy news on Valentine’s Day.
- The latest odds from bookmakers suggest that it’s likely they will favor family names for their second baby.
- In other Royal News, the Queen's likely candidates for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal patronages have been revealed.
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy announcement on Valentine’s Day delighted the Royal Family and royal fans alike. The couple’s wonderful news was perhaps made all the more significant given the sweet acknowledgment they made to Prince Harry’s later mother, Princess Diana, on this important day. This comes after Duchess Meghan revealed last year that she had been through a tragic miscarriage in the summer. The Duchess wrote an exceptionally poignant piece for the New York Times about her loss, hoping to shine a light on the grieving process.
The news that their family will grow has reportedly “delighted” the Queen and the Royal Family. Whilst Meghan and Harry have not yet officially confirmed their child’s due date, some may begin to wonder how the British line of succession will change after their next baby.
But when it comes to the name the Sussexes will choose for their child, the speculation has already begun. With Princess Eugenie revealing her son’s unique name, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, on Saturday, it’s perhaps only natural to wonder if Prince Harry and Meghan will choose traditional choices. And it now seems like they're likely to do the latter...

What are the latest odds for Prince Harry and Meghan’s baby name?
If the latest odds from bookies are anything to go by, it’s currently thought much more likely they’ll go down the family naming route. Betvictor has predicted that the most likely name will be Diana for a girl and Charles for a little boy, honoring Prince Harry’s parents. This would be a particularly sweet choice if so.
The top picks for a daughter
There’s also reportedly a chance that the child may be named Doria (50/1) or Celia (50/1) after Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Harry’s godmother who passed away last year, Lady Celia Vestey.
The top picks for a son
The potential baby name choices for a little boy are certainly very traditional names. Whilst with their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, it seemed that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan chose to go down a more contemporary naming route.
Whatever name they choose, we can’t wait for the new royal arrival!
